Cold, Wet, Windy, and Nasty

I think that pretty much sums up the weather in the UK during my latest sortie across the pond. I understand it's like this most of the winter. It also gets dark very early in the afternoon - like 4pm. All is well otherwise, although I did catch a cough and a cold whilst I was there - but other than that it was an exceedingly engrossing shall we say - very busy. I worked out of the Wales office where Lee Mahon is based at the first week, then went and played grownup wargames for a little downtime, and then resumed my busy schedule with Simon Adlington in the Birmingham area. I got to tour a lost wax faciltiy, my first. Understand that my foundry experience has been in the high volume green sand portion of the industry - primarily ductile iron and steel. From there, I visited the home office of Synchro32 in Barmouth and spent some time with Chris and Barbara and attended the company management Christmas party.

I was lucky, both the flight to-and-from the UK were not full and I had a whole row of empty seats to myself back in the steerage section of the plane - commonly known as economy. Thus, I was able to pretty much sleep to and from across the pond - which is a real benefit in avoiding jetlag.

I arrived back in the states totally knackered - and fortunately I had scheduled a week of downtime upon my return which I really needed.

All is well with Synchro32.
