
I had hoped that Texas would escape 2009 w/o any major tropical storms or hurricanes. Where I'm at, we really aren't supposed to have to worry about such non sense. Texas is very parched right now, in the throes of a long severe drought that has the Austin area Lake Travis down by 46 feet from normal pool level! The last public boat ramp on Lake Travis has been closed. Texas could use a "light" tropical storm to bring in some much needed moisture, but we sure do not need another Ike or Rita.

Just in case, I've got the generator and chain saw all primed up and ready to go. I even purchased a stock of batteries to weather a storm should it head this way. I'll shelter in place once again...
I certainly wouldn't want to be one of these Austin homeowners.
