Hurricane Ida intensified at one of the fastest rates on record, and plowed ashore this morning in central Nicaragua as a Category 1 hurricane with 75 mph winds. It took just 24 hours from when the first advisory was issued for Tropical Depression Eleven until Ida reached hurricane strength. Since reliable satellite measurements. http://tinyurl.com/ida-a001
Who knows where Ida will go - it might not even survive going over South America. It is very unusual to have one of these dang things this late in the year. However, the Atlantic Hurricane Season does not cease until the end of November.
I don't want to meet Ida and I don't want you to meet her either. I'll be keeping a very close watch on this over the next several days.
All is well @ Synchro32. Simon will be in North America next week on his final swing for 2009. We are still planning on Richard making one more swing through North America in December.

See you on down the road...
